Rough-insThe Bones of Electrical Services

The Process

Before the rough-in begins, this time is essential to layout the flow of your project with blueprints. The blueprints must be  inspected by the Municipal professionals and accepted  before work can  begin. A  certified electrician, who is licensed, bonded, and insured should carefully calculate the the estimated price for the needed materials, such as: service size and meter base, panel locations, number of required and needed circuits, outlet layouts, and much more.

During the rough-in, the required wire is routed throughout the building and terminated in outlet boxes.  In this stage; fixed devices, housings, specialty items and the panel, are installed before any dry wall or wall covering is applied.  No outlets, switches or end user devices are installed in this stageAfter  the rough-in portion of a new build or remodel is completed, an inspection is required to move to the next phase.

After wall coverings are installed; outlet, switches and end user devices are now ready for installation. A final inspection will be completed to insure the proper installation, function, and safety of the system meets NEC requirements.
